I have been a shutterbug my whole life.  I am obsessed with having pictures of just about everything I do.  If something awesome happens and I don't get a picture of it, I feel sad.  For example, several months ago my then 7 month old son Danny fell asleep in his little saucer play center.  It was ADORABLE!  I grabbed my phone and snapped a picture before gently removing him and taking him upstairs to have a real nap in his crib.  To my utter dismay, I had clicked out of my camera app too quickly and it didn't save the picture.  I literally mourned the loss of this picture for days.  I tried to put Danny back in the saucer when he was sleepy to recreate the shot and he never would fall asleep there again.  I still think about that lost picture.
Since I am constantly taking pictures, I decided I really should study the process and technique and get good at it.  I've been getting instruction and lessons from several mentors for months now and I have an announcement to make... I am turning a lifelong dream into a reality:  I'm starting a photography business!
Gaining experience is key at this stage of the game.  I'm taking pictures as often as I can and learning the fine art of editing and processing images to really make them magical.
Here are some photographs from my first family portraits shoot.  I really love this location.  I think the soft colors are absolutely gorgeous.
Shooting families is so much fun!  I love watching parents interact with their kids.  Capturing the candid playful smiles is what it's all about!
